“As a physical therapist, my main goals include assisting my patients in returning to the activities they enjoy while promoting patient independence and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy empowering my patients through education and encouraging their involvement in decision-making to guide them in achieving their goals.

As an aquatic therapy specialist, I utilize the properties of water to assist my patients in achieving their goals. The water is helpful for patients of nearly all ages and diagnoses by improving muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance. The water provides you with a feeling of weightlessness, which may reduce the pain in your joints while exercising. I enjoy incorporating pool noodles and dumbbells during the sessions to increase the resistance in the water while strengthening the muscles. The water allows the patients to build their confidence as they transition to land-based exercises and the activities they enjoy.”

Bio:
Kailey chose to pursue a career as a physical therapist after she saw the difference physical therapy had made for her after experiencing an injury herself. She wanted to help others get back to the activities they love and live pain-free. Kailey enjoys working with a wide variety of patients including those with chronic pain, post-op replacements, mild to moderate spinal cord injuries, and neurological diagnoses. She acquired a special interest in aquatic therapy after interning at Franklin Rehabilitation at the Innovative Health & Fitness location, where she was able to directly see the positive impacts that working in the water had on the patients.
